Should Public Spaces Block Phone Signals?

The average Brit is now spending 25 hours per week on the internet, due in part to the use of smartphones.

One British pub is now using a Faraday cage device to block all mobile phone signals, to encourage people to relate more to each other and, according to the owner, "have more fun".

Is this a good idea? Should more public spaces incorporate blocks of this kind?
